Principal Research Engineer

Dr. Paula Gómez is a Principal Research Engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), where she leads Systems Modeling efforts within the CIPHER Lab’s Resilient Infrastructure and Supply Chain Unit. An architect and systems researcher, she has led multidisciplinary projects spanning resilient infrastructure, spatiotemporal modeling, and systems engineering, including key roles on the DARPA’s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI) and the Gates Foundation’s G2RT program. A Fulbright Scholar with a Ph.D. in Computational Design and an M.S in Building Technologies from Georgia Tech, as well as a Professional Architecture License (Chile) and a Architecture and Systems Engineering Certificate from MIT, her work has received multiple international and GTRI awards. As President of SIGraDi and an active contributor to leading international scientific organizations, she advances global collaboration at the intersection of computational design, systems modeling, research, and industry.
