Senior Research Scientist

Matt's work focuses on the translation of behavioral patterns and perceptions within real and virtual environments into computer models to understand spatial design decisions. He also develops custom electronics designs and hardware sensors, interactive systems, and software applications for capturing occupant behavior, testing human spatial perception in virtual environments, running discrete-event and agent-based modeling and simulation, and developing machine learning models with sensor data. His areas of expertise include model based systems engineering, systems modeling, process modeling, modeling and simulation, quantum computing infrastructure, supply chains, critical minerals, electronic hardware circuit design, sensor driver design, wireless sensor networks, internet-of-things, wireless mesh networks, software development, user experience design, virtual and augmented reality, building information modeling, geographic information systems, spatio-temporal modeling, and occupancy analytics.
